INTERIOR STYLISTS from TEXAS & NEW YORK working in Arlington, Winchester, Boston & Beyond

Red Door DesignWorks came into being in 2007 when we combined our experience with design, color theory and human behavior, with our shared love of interior styling.

renovation assistance. color consultation. home staging. redesign.

Andrea is a passionate hands-on house renovator, having transformed three properties doing most of the work herself. A fun fact: one of her earliest design efforts was showcased nationally when she was a participant on TLC's Trading Spaces. Andrea is an avid gardener, singer and yogi, and loves bargain hunting at flea markets and antique shops. Her mission is to create stylish spaces on a budget. Andrea enjoys being involved in her community, volunteering in many capacities, most recently at The Children's Room. She has a background in social work and uses her ability to listen with all her design clients. She has a blast being a mom to teen twins and the sweetest dog in the world named Penny.

Allison started her career as a writer and shifted gears to Interiors after meeting Andrea. She has studied poetry, painting, figure drawing, and has exhibited work in Arlington's Chairful Where You Sit. Allison enjoys planning renovations with clients, specifying custom tile jobs and drawing floor plans the old fashioned way. She volunteers in the school system, as well as for The Center for Homicide Bereavement. She was once a classical pianist, but now enjoys strumming her guitar, and writing and singing songs with her friends. Allison shares her home with three handsome gentlemen, as well as a boxer named Benson and a tabby cat named Bruno.

We are going on a decade of working together, and it has been 10 years of laughter, learning, creative collaboration, challenges and the opportunity to meet and help hundreds of delightful people in the greater Boston area. We have found over the years that by working together we are able to really hear and synthesize what our clients are saying. One of the things we have heard them say is that they enjoy our playful style of working with one another--maybe it's the fact that we can finish each others' sentences, or that we often show up for work color coordinated!

At any rate, we are looking forward to another remarkable decade.

Sincerely,

Andrea Canty and Allison Tilly Carswell
