Allison Tilly Carswell and Andrea Canty

Allison and Andrea

Don’t worry about keeping our names straight when you meet us. It happens to everyone.

Red Door DesignWorks materialized in 2007, over lunch. Since then, we’ve built a business working in residential and commercial Interiors, and staging homes of all sizes and styles—with a specialty niche in urban condo/loft and mid-century modern home staging. The majority of our clients are located in the Boston area, though we’ve also helped folks in Austin, Los Angeles, Washington DC and New York City.

Andrea is a passionate hands-on house renovator, having transformed three properties doing most of the work herself. A fun fact: one of her earliest design efforts was televised when she was a participant on TLC's Trading Spaces. Andrea is an avid gardener, singer and yogi, and loves bargain hunting. She enjoys helping her community, volunteering most recently at The Children's Room. She uses her background in social work to listen well to all our design clients. Andrea has a blast being a mom to teen twins and the sweetest dog in the world: Penny.

Allison started her career as a writer and shifted gears to Interiors after meeting Andrea. She has studied poetry, painting, figure drawing, and has exhibited work in Arlington's Chairful Where You Sit. She enjoys planning renovations with clients, specifying custom tile jobs and drawing floor plans the old fashioned way. Allison volunteers for The Center for Homicide Bereavement and supports many charities, local and nationwide. She draws inspiration from her partner, a filmmaker, and stays busy raising her three sons and keeping up with two dogs and a cat!

Over the years, we have made donations of time, goods, money and advice to:

The last 12 years working together has been full of laughter, learning, creative collaboration, challenges and the opportunity to help hundreds of delightful people in the greater Boston area. We look forward to another remarkable decade!
