Reviews For Our Boston Home Staging Company

Nicholas Hanneman
"My team is so grateful for Allison and Andrea's talents, professionalism, and overall positive demeanor. Their willingness to listen and collaborate along with their keen eye for what Buyers respond well to has consistently netted our clients considerable increases in sales price. We have numerous instances where a property that was overhauled by Red Door has achieved 5-10x return on investment, not to mention the properties tend to sell very quickly. We are so happy to consider Allison and Andrea extended members of our team!"

Custom Staging

We take staging seriously because we know how valuable it is for a homeowner’s return on investment. Studies show that professionally staged homes sell 88% faster and for an average of 20% more money than non-staged homes. Our passion is helping home sellers earn as much money for their home as possible, even when the real estate market favors them

Within the family of our Custom Staging services is our Staging Consultation, which is a one-hour consultation where we visit you and your home to provide you with room-by-room recommendations for how to stage your property using your own materials. During a Consultation, we may also provide recommendations for paint, light fixtures, and more.

For Boston's property owners with unoccupied and vacant properties, we can provide Full Lifestyle Home staging using our own inventory. With this service, we carefully choose pieces from our own arsenal of furniture at our large warehouse to create a custom interior that shows what a home is capable of. We own more than 40 houses worth of furniture and accessories and frequently refresh our inventory from a variety of sources. We specialize in modern luxury, modern eclectic, and modern mid-century style.

It usually takes a day for us to fully install a custom project. We have a ten-point checklist that we go through with clients to ensure a seamless process. We are fully insured to work in high-rise luxury properties and our moving team carries a high level of insurance for added peace of mind.

Essential Staging Program Near Me

If the home you want to sell is on the smaller side, we also offer our Essentials program, suitable for unoccupied, vacant properties of 1,500 square feet or less. This modular, on-demand option puts you in control of choosing the furniture plan and color scheme you like best. Our four-week rental includes the installation, setup, styling, and removal.

Custom Interior Decor and Consultation

We want you to fall in love with the place you call home. Our custom interior decor services will create a living space that is functional, comfortable, and reflects your personality and tastes.

We can offer a free 15-20 minute consultation where we don’t dispense any advice, but simply meet with you to learn more about you and your living space. This is also when we will give you an estimate of how long your decor project will take based on your goals. We schedule a follow-up visit a few weeks later.

Depending upon your needs, we will arrange for either a design download or design board meeting. The design download meeting is usually one or two hours long and we will begin making recommendations regarding your room’s layout, hanging art, choosing finishes, and more.

For a design board meeting, we will come to you for a one-hour meeting to discuss the functional needs of your rooms and take measurements. Working within your budget, we create a design board depicting what the room can look like and include links on what furniture and accessories to buy.

But what if you are just seeking design advice on specific areas you may need pointers on, such as the right paint color or curtains to buy? We offer specific interior decorating services such as room redesign, renovation consultation, paint color consultation, art placement and hanging, and window treatments and upholstery.

No matter what area of your home you need design assistance with, Red Door Design + Staging looks forward to working with you and seeing you fully occupy your space!

FAQs

Q. What does your home staging service include?

    A. We have three different Boston home staging services: our Staging Consultation, our Custom installations, and our Essentials Installations. With our Consultation, we provide homeowners with advice to most effectively present their property using their own materials. For our installations, we draw from our warehouse of furnishings to best present a property. Our Custom service includes up to an hour of design advice (lighting, paint, finishes, etc) and complete installation, setup, and removal of furniture.

    Q. How long do home staging companies take for the installation?

    A. It all depends on the size of the home and what the seller hopes to achieve. Typically, we can accomplish everything on your scheduled installation day including moving in furniture and decorating. Occasionally, we do need to return to a home the following day before it can be deemed photo-ready.

We also have a 10-point checklist that we give to every client so that the process goes as smoothly as possible. This includes everything from making sure the electricity is turned on for us to reserving your building’s elevator if necessary.

    Q. Is staging worth it when you want to sell your home?

    A. Absolutely! Research shows that homes for sale that are professionally staged sell for 20% more and 88% faster than non-staged homes. Staging your house is more than curb appeal; it’s the best way to give prospective buyers a true sense of your home’s living space and demonstrate how furniture and decor can be used to leverage the living areas and your home’s unique features.

    Q. How much does it cost to stage a home?

    A. It depends upon the size of the home, the level of service you want, and how quickly you want to list it. We suggest contacting us about your project so we can provide an estimate of how much it will cost to work with us. Our Essentials staging package starts at just $2,499 for 4 weeks.

    Q. Who pays for the staging of a house or business?

    A. Typically, it's been said the person selling the home will pay for staging services, but more and more we’ve been working with real estate agencies who are staging their sellers' properties.

    Q. What should you not do when staging a property?

    A. This question applies to whether you want to stage a home yourself. While it’s always a good idea to hire a staging firm for at least a consultation even if you plan on staging a house yourself, there are some general tips to follow. We suggest not worrying too much about what the home magazines insist is in “style” at the moment or getting hung up on trends. Instead, you need to take a look at your home’s specific space and features to determine what kind of furniture and accessories can best show it off.

Pay attention to the size and placement of your furniture. You don’t want furniture that is in the way of a room’s natural flow and that makes navigating the space difficult.

Also, not taking advantage of the home’s natural light is another mistake home sellers often make. Showing a house in lots of light naturally makes it more appealing to buyers. Lighten up on paint shades and throw open those curtains and blinds!

    Q. What does an interior decorator do?

    A. An interior decorator helps set the mood for a home by choosing furniture, accessories, and decor that harmonizes with the living space while also being aesthetically pleasing and comfortable for the client. It’s similar to home staging except it’s highly personal and done with the client’s needs and preferences in mind—not those of potential home buyers. Interior decorators work with people who plan on staying in their current home for the foreseeable future who would like to make the most of their living space and give it a personality.

"The staff of Red Door are amazing, professional, talented women. They have assisted me with two projects over the years related to room design and paint. Their eye for color is spot on. I can give them a very simple idea of what I want ("blue nautical theme") and they come back with EXACTLY what I was looking for. They clearly put a lot of time and thought into their work. The result I got for color choice is perfect. I am so happy with my bedroom now. They provided an array of examples of rooms and color for inspiration to get an idea of what I was looking for (as a very clueless consumer.) Based on what I said looked nice, they came back with great ideas and color choices. I would highly recommend Red Door. My friends have also used their design expertise and have been very satisfied with the results. As an added bonus, they are kind, polite, accommodating, and resourceful. I was happy to support local business women who are great at what they do!"
